One can never underestimate or overstate how good it is to sit quietly with God and His word as often as possible. I'm sure many of you have often wished your personal devotions, quiet time, prayer life, Bible reading, etc. was "better." I write this to encourage us all to get it done more often - at whatever time works for you. I write to encourage you to not wait until your in a very low place to really get serious about it but to start now and shorten your lag times.
And let me explain, it's not that I'm doing it perfectly - even in a period with a very open schedule, I've still had times of inconsistency, so let's not ever kid ourselves into thinking we don't HAVE time - the truth is always we don't MAKE time. - turn off the radio in the car, turn off the TV after the kids are in bed, leave the magazinegameboysmartphoneipad out of the bathroom - whatever time you can find - sit in silence and talk and listen to God.
You WILL feel better, you WILL trust Him more, you WILL hear him lead you in your life. If we want to be great parents, great friends, better people, it starts with our relationship with God being the solid source for everything we do.
