Let Life Happen

Maybe it's just me, but I make myself a little crazy sometimes wondering why…. why bad things happen, why good things don't. From the small disappointments to significant hardships, the question is the same - why? But if I maintain perspective, "why?" is the least important question because it has the least effect. We think we'll find comfort in knowing why, but it's already happened.

"How will I react?", "what will I do next?"; those are better questions. "Who is with me?, Who loves me?, Who takes care of me?". Those are the important questions, all with the same answer: God.

Simple? - yes. True? - yes.

If you still want to know why... - in general, bad things happen because there is sin in the world. Imperfect people and a broken creation result in bad things. Good things happen because God loves us and takes care of us. Even when sin disrupts our physical needs our spiritual need is still covered - salvation by grace through faith in God.

We can let life happen, and remember God is God and we are not. When we manage to trust Him and not concern ourselves with why He is or is not doing what we think is best, we come to the next important "who?" question - Who can we help or encourage to trust Him in the same way?

We're here for each other. Who can we influence with our attitudes of perseverance or thankfulness?
